FIRST Craft Show

I just wanted to let you know that I am having my FIRST craft show this coming this weekend.

It took weeks of preparation, but no matter how much I make, I still feel like I have much more to do. Is it just me or does anybody else have the same experience? If there's anybody who would like to share some ideas, tips or advice from experience, please feel free to share.

I could use some good Karma for the next few days. :) Have a lovely week and hope to hear from you!

Yes, I think everyone has the same experience. No matter how much you make you will always wish you made more. Do you accept credit cards? If not, look into Propay. You'll be glad you did because 90% of my sales last month at my show were credit card sales (many over $100). A director's chair was key for me. Higher to be more at eye level, plus the foot rest was invaluable during those long days. I used bed risers under my table legs to bring them higher so my customers didn't have to bend over so much, plus it looks nicer. Floor length table covers, varying heights for displays for interest, mirrors so they can check their look. I also had a mannequin to display a very long pearl necklace. You can get inexpensive display items at RobertHamm.com. You'll be fine, just wear a smile and enjoy the people. It's a great experience. Much luck and success to you!!

It's not just you. I have done lots of craft fairs and still worry that I don't have enough stock. I haven't run out yet. Last Christmas I booked two events on the same weekend. A one day fair, which my husband had to do for me, and a big two day fair in Perth (the Scottish one). Like you I make jewellery. My daughter works in my shop so three family members had a very busy weekend.Great for business but a bit mad to be sitting up at midnight knitting bracelets to replenish stock. Good luck at the weekend. Have fun. Fiona

Thank you guys for the comments. This makes me feel so much better that I'm not the only who feels the same. The tips are really great. I may want to look into the directors chairs. I do have a propay account. I have not used it yet but I have been told that it's a useful tool for craft shows. I also got a couple of display items from Nilecorp.com. I will check out RobertHamm.com as well. Mmmmh good Karma :)

I hope everything goes really well for you, sending loads of good vibes.

I haven't done any craft shows myself but the biggest piece of advice I have heard is not to overstock the table, keep some of your pieces under the table to replenish what you sell.

The biggest piece of advice I have heard is to be friendly to everyone and smile till your cheeks hurt.

Good luck and I hope you sell out xx

Thanks for your tips Lou's I will definitely consider that part. And the big smile as always. :)
